The Grove has 1 toddler group (or Grover's Gang as we like to call it after our dog logo) This is ran on a Friday afternoon 12.30 - 2.00pm. Please ring 0191 4102011 for more information or call in to speak to us. This is a fantastic opportunity to meet the staff within the pre-school and the other children who will attend the pre-school. The routine during the toddler group is the same as the pre-school.

Grover's Gang is open to children aged about 6 months to 3 years old and can admit up to 20 children with their parent/carer. A waiting list operates when the group is full and then the next child on the list is admitted to the group when a child leaves. 

Fees are £2.50 per child, parents are welcome to bring a snack and a drink, there will be an area for your child to have this during the session. 

 

Routine of 'Grover's Gang'
Free Play: The first 1 hr is set up as free play. The activities include a craft or the easels, construction toys, role play, and small world toys as well as a selection of toddler toys.

Tidy Up Time: At tidy up time, children, parents/carers, and staff tidy all the toys up together and set the room ready for snack time.

Physical Play: The staff set out a variety of physical toys such as, balls, hoops, slides, tunnels, etc. Physical play generally lasts around 15 minutes.

Song Time: The Last 5 to 10 minutes is song time. This is where all children and adults come together and sit in a circle to sing some songs.

Please Note: Parents/Carers are expected to supervise and interact with their children whilst attending the session. Staff are NOT responsible for children attending the Grover's Gang Toddler Group.
